Mr. Chugh was the Chairman of the ITC Group from November 1991 to December 1995. On his retirement he was honored with the title of Chairman Emeritus – ITC.Prior to joining ITC in 1971, Mr. Chugh – a Mechanical Engineer from Delhi University – worked for 10 years with India’s largest engineering enterprise, the Heavy Engineering Corporation, a public sector organization based in Ranchi. Mr. Chugh achieved valuable experience in heavy industry and large projects.Mr. Chugh set up the ITC Bhadrachalam Paperboards Limited in the tribal area of Andhra Pradesh. Leading a young team, Mr. Chugh implemented this large project in record time with no cost over-runs. The company has since received numerous awards in recognition of its excellent working and has grown to become India’s largest company. Mr. Chugh has authored Clonal Plantation Technology in Bhadrachalam – this has helped spur the rapid growth of the Indian paper industry. In 1989, Mr. Chugh came back to ITC as Vice Chairman and took over as Chairman in 1991. During his stewardship, ITC became one of the India’s leading private sector corporations in turnover, profit, and market capitalization, the country’s largest exporter and a prestigious Super Star trading house. During Mr. Chugh’s tenure of four years as Chairman, ITC grew more than two fold in turnover and almost four times in profit. For two consecutive years ITC was India’s No.1 Company based on a number of criteria – growth, profit, return to shareholders and market capitalization. In the early days of economic liberalization, Mr. Chugh re-engineered ITC to grow as India’s leading multinational company. He was the first Indian CEO to talk about `Creating India’s Multinationals’ and encouraging global competitiveness.Mr. Chugh was appointed as a Director on the Central Board of Reserve Bank of India, Shipping Credit and Investment Company of India Ltd., Tourism Finance Corporation of India and National Housing Bank of India and Member of Board of Governors, National Council of Applied Economic Research, IIM Kolkata, Administrative Staff College of India, President AIMA. Mr. Chugh was elected the financial world’s International 1994 CEO of the Year Asia and in 1993 was adjudged amongst the Top 2 Best Indian Chief Executives. He was elected one of five ‘Tobacco Men of the Year’ by the World Tobacco International, USA and the Most Distinguished Alumni of the Delhi College of Engineering.He is presently Chairman of Gati Ltd, Director of Sandhar Auto Industries, Urban Mass Transit Co., Fozal Small Hydro Power and Spice Telecom and Member of Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and Population Foundation of India.Mr. Chugh’s current interests are management consulting, renewable energy and education.
Mr. Mahendra Agarwal
Mahendra Agarwal is the Founder & CEO of Gati Ltd. – leader and pioneer in Express Distribution and Supply Chain Solutions. He established Gati in 1989 with an aim to redefine the logistics industry. Mr. Agarwal is the driving force behind Gati’s journey to leadership position. His foresight has been instrumental in the company’s exponential growth by venturing into global markets and diversifying into varied domains. Under his visionary leadership, Gati has evolved into a major ILSP (Integrated Logistics Service Provider).Mr. Agarwal is an avid speaker and has been invited to many symposia and forums like the Global Logistics Summit 2006 held at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad and the Logistics 2005 conference. He was also invited by IIM (Ahmedabad) to interact with the students. In June 2008, he was awarded “Best Entrepreneur of the Year” by Hyderabad Management Association. In Sep 2010, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 4th Express Logistics & Supply Chain Conclave held at Mumbai. In the same year he was also conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award from ASBM. In 2012, he was honoured with two more awards – ‘Executive of the Year’ Award (Logistics) by Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) for his contribution to the Indian Supply Chain & Logistics Industry and “Logistics Promoter Award” at the Logistics Talent Hunt 2012 International Conference. In Oct 2015, he was presented with the prestigious NITIE Empresario “Most Inspiring Entrepreneur of the Year” award at the NITIE Campus in Mumbai for his contributions to the Indian Logistics Industry.A leader, thinker and philosopher, Mr. Agarwal is an institution by himself. Apart from being on the Board of several Indian companies, Mr. Agarwal is also the founder member of Supply Chain & Logistics Group (SCLG) India (in addition to being a member of the international board of advisors for SCLG Global), member of CII Southern Region Council, member of CII Institute of Logistics Advisory Council, FICCI’s Civil Aviation Committee & FICCI’s Logistics Forum.He holds an Engineering Degree from Bangalore University and a Masters in Business Administration from Austin, USA. He loves travelling, golf and swimming. Mr. Agarwal continues to guide Gati towards the future with characteristic passion and a commitment to excel in everything he does.
Mr. Sunil Kumar Alagh
Mr. Sunil Alagh is the Chairman of SKA Advisors, a Business Advisory/ Consultancy firm with a focus on Marketing and Brand building strategies. He is a graduate in Economics (Hons.) with MBA from IIM Calcutta. He has worked with ITC Limited, Jagatjit Industries Limited and Britannia Industries Limited. He was the Managing Director and CEO of Britannia Industries Limited from 1989 to 2003. During this tenure, Britannia figured in the Forbes Magazine list of 300 Best Small Companies in the world for 3 years. It also became the Number 1 food Brand in India.
He is on the Boards of United Breweries Ltd (JV of Heineken and Mallya Group), GATI Ltd. (a JV with KWE, Japan), GATI Import & Export Trading Ltd. and Indofil Industries Ltd. In addition, he is a Member of the PrasarBharati Board, India, Member on the Advisory Board of the Jawaharlal Darda Institute of Engineering and Technology, Yavatmal, Senior Advisor to Hannover Re, Germany, and on the Executive Committee of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). He is a former member of the Board of IL&FS Investsmart Ltd. The Indian Advisory Board of Schindler Switzerland, Board of Governors’ of IIM Bangalore and IIM Indore, the Governing Council of the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad and a member of the Round Table on Higher Education of the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. He was honoured with the ‘Gold Medal Kashlkar Memorial Award 2000′ for outstanding contribution to the food processing industry in India. He was a finalist for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, 2002.
Mr. N. Srinivasan
Mr. N. Srinivasan is a commerce graduate and has been a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India since 1955. He was the Senior Partner of Fraser & Ross, Chartered Accountants, with Head Office in Chennai and branches at Bangalore, Coimbatore, Cochin and Hyderabad. Messrs. Fraser & Ross is a member firm of Messrs Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu International, New York – one of the four big multi-national firms of chartered accountants. Mr. N. Srinivasan is closely associated with the development of the profession of accounting and auditing in India. He has been the Chairman of the Southern India Regional Council and a Central Council Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.He is the past President of Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Indo-Australian Chamber of Commerce, Management Association and is on the committee of Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is on the Board of several reputed companies viz., United Breweries (Holdings) Ltd., Mc Dowell Holdings Ltd., The Andhra Pradesh Paper Mills Ltd., AMCO Batteries Ltd., Redington (India) Ltd., etc.
Dr. P. Sudhakar Reddy
Dr. P. Sudhakar Reddy is a well-known Cardiologist, Humanitarian, Social Activist, He founded SHARE organizations which established Mediciti Hospitals and Mediciti Institute of Medical Sciences. In February 2010, Dr. Reddy was awarded the Peter J. Safar Pulse of Pittsburg Award by the American Heart Association. He did his MRCP from Edinburgh, U.K. He is a faculty member of University of Pittsburgh and had been Director of Cardiac interventional laboratories. He promotes research by Indian doctors to solve health care problems of India particularly rural population.TETRA project empowers Technologically Enabled health workers to extend Telemedicine to Rural population at Affordable costs. He is planning to develop a total artificial heart in India to make it accessible to all citizens globally.
Mr. Yoshinobu Mitsuhashi
Mr.Yoshinobu Mitsuhashi, joined Kintetsu World Express Inc., in 1979 and after serving in various positions, became the Managing Director of Kintetsu Integrated Air Services Sdn. Bhd. He graduated from Keio University, Faculty of Law, and Department of Political Science. Presently, he is the Corporate Managing Director in charge of East Asia & Oceania Region, South-East Asia Region and of South East Asia Region.
Mr. Sanjeev Jain
Mr. Sanjeev Jain is a seasoned and result oriented professional with an experience of over 25 years in key financial positions. Mr. Jain has varied industry expertise with business verticals like telecom, logistics and fertilizers.Prior to Gati, Mr. Jain was associated with AFL-FedEx Express Ltd., where he was spear heading the role of Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Jain has always been the person with a plan and has designed & implemented business processes. He has played key roles in the M & A activities for the organization. He has also worked with Tata Communication Ltd for over 10 years. At Tata, Mr. Jain was Global Head for management assurance services including Internal Audit, Revenue assurance and SoX implementation. He also led Profit Enhancement Plan which resulted in substantial benefits to the organizations.Mr. Jain is a Masters in Commerce and is also a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He has an extensive knowledge in the field of accounting, Audit, M&A, and business restructuring and transformation. He is also well versed with Company Law, Taxation & Regulation.Mr. Sanjeev Jain has an avid interest in CSR activities; he also likes to travel, play badminton and loves to read in his leisure time.
Mr. P. N. Shukla
Mr. P N Shukla, joined Indian Railway Traffic Service in 1976. He is a Rail transport Operations & Logistics specialist. He completed MSc Physics & LLB from Allahabad University and graduated in Business Management from Perth University, Australia. He has worked in various capacities in Safety, Commercial and Operations departments of Railways. He served as an Executive Director of Traffic Transportation, Executive Director of Tourism & Catering and Executive Director of Freight Marketing in the Railway Board. He is Rail Advisor to Hindalco and Kakinada, he also worked as Director of Container Corporation of India and Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation. He has been on the Board of several renowned companies.
Ms. Sheela Bhide
Ms.SheelaBhide, is a Doctorate in International Trade from the Institute of International Studies, Geneva and Master in Arts and Economics from George Mason University, USA and Master in Public Policy and Public Administration (MPA) from John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, USA and master degree in political science from Poona University and MBA Finance from IGNOU. She joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1973. In her career spanning over four decades, she had held various high ranking positionsas Chairman and Managing Director of India Trade Promotion Organization, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India (GoI), Special Secretary and Financial Advisor in Ministry of External Affairs (GoI), Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor in Ministry of Defense (GoI), Joint Secretary in Ministry of Corporate Affairs (GoI), Principal Secretary Finance, Government of AP and Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Government of AP. She also serves as Senior Advisor to EU-funded project on “Sustainable Development of Foundry Clusters in India” being implemented by Foundation for MSME Clusters, Delhi, Chairperson on Task Force for Fertilizers and Pharmaceuticals, Department of Public Enterprises, Government of India. She is a USA Fellow of the Edward S. Mason Program in Public Policy Management in Developing Countries at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. She has been on the Board of several Public Limited Company and Public sector undertaking.
