Founder & CEO
Mahendra Agarwal is the Founder & CEO of Gati Ltd. – leader and pioneer in Express Distribution and Supply Chain Solutions. He established Gati in 1989 with an aim to redefine the logistics industry. Mr. Agarwal is the driving force behind Gati’s journey to leadership position. His foresight has been instrumental in the company’s exponential growth by venturing into global markets and diversifying into varied domains. He combines his entrepreneurial skills with business acumen to enable a sustainable business model. Under his visionary leadership, Gati has evolved into a major ILSP (Integrated Logistics Service Provider).
The Indian Express Cargo industry barely existed in the late 1980s. The concept of Door Pick up and Door Delivery, Express Cargo, Retail Express Cargo, Multimodal Express Delivery, Integrated Logistics and many such innovative ideas were conceptualised and pioneered by him successfully in India. In 1996, he decided to tie up with Indian Airlines to facilitate speedy delivery of shipments. Today Gati Limited has offices in , Singapore, China, Hong Kong, and Thailand apart from SAARC countries that concentrate on India-centric distribution solutions.
Mr. Agarwal is an avid speaker and has been invited to many symposia and forums like the Global Logistics Summit 2006 held at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad and the Logistics 2005 conference. He was also invited by IIM (Ahmedabad) to interact with the students. In June 2008, he was awarded “Best Entrepreneur of the Year” by Hyderabad Management Association. In Sep 2010, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 4th Express Logistics & Supply Chain Conclave held at Mumbai. In the same year he was also conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award from ASBM. In 2012, he was honoured with two more awards – ‘Executive of the Year’ Award (Logistics) by Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) for his contribution to the Indian Supply Chain & Logistics Industry and “Logistics Promoter Award” at the Logistics Talent Hunt 2012 International Conference.
An astute professional, he has implemented the “Domino discipline” in his organisation and seeks to make it a way of life at Gati. A leader, thinker and philosopher, Mr. Agarwal is an institution by himself. Apart from being on the Board of several Indian companies, Mr. Agarwal is also the founder member of SCLG India (in addition to being a member of the international board of advisors for SCLG Global), member of CII Southern Region Council, member of CII Institute of Logistics Advisory Council & FICCI’s Civil Aviation Committee
He holds an Engineering Degree from Bangalore University and a Masters in Business Administration from Austin, USA. He loves travelling, golf and swimming. Mr. Agarwal continues to guide Gati towards the future with characteristic passion and a commitment to excel in everything he does.
Mr. Sanjeev Jain is a seasoned and result oriented professional with an experience of over 25 years in key financial positions. Mr. Jain has varied industry expertise with business verticals like telecom, logistics and fertilizers.
Prior to Gati, Mr. Jain was associated with AFL-FedEx Express Ltd., where he was spear heading the role of Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Jain has always been the person with a plan and has designed & implemented business processes. He has played key roles in the M & A activities for the organization. He has also worked with Tata Communication Ltd for over 10 years. At Tata, Mr. Jain was Global Head for management assurance services including Internal Audit, Revenue assurance and SoX implementation. He also led Profit Enhancement Plan which resulted in substantial benefits to the organizations.
Mr. Jain is a Masters in Commerce and is also a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He has an extensive knowledge in the field of accounting, Audit, M&A, and business restructuring and transformation. He is also well versed with Company Law, Taxation & Regulation.
Mr. Sanjeev Jain has an avid interest in CSR activities; he also likes to travel, play badminton and loves to read in his leisure time.
President & Whole-Time Director, GATI-KWE
Bala Aghoramurthy is the President & Director of GATI-KWE. In this role he is responsible for establishing the company’s goals and strategies and providing directional guidance to the workforce. Additionally, Bala will also provide leadership direction to the Gati businesses (ICE). He is also responsible for overseeing budgets; ensuring resources are properly allocated and providing high level supervision to departmental goals and achievements. Bala will also be inducted into the Gati-KWE board.
Bala comes with close to 17 years of experience in supply chain management, product development and operational efficiency. Prior to joining Gati, Bala was the General Manager, Supply Chain, Refreshment with Unilever, South Asia. Bala started with Unilever as a Management Trainee in 1998 and has held various leadership positions in the organisation that ranges from technology, product development, manufacturing operations, quality assurance and customer relationships for a wide array of products/divisions of Unilever. In his last role he was a key partner at Unilever Foods & Refreshment Business where he was instrumental in planning long-term growth strategies and focus on both the top-line and bottom-line results.
Bala holds a Bachelor’s degree in Technology (Chemical Engineering) from Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai and a Master’s degree in Science (Chemical Engineering) from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, USA.
G.S. Ravi Kumar
Chief Information Officer
“G.S. Ravi Kumar has 25 plus years experience in the field of Information Technology. Has worked extensively in service & manufacturing industries in various organisations in senior roles. Prior to joining Gati Limited he worked as General Manager’ Information Technology, heading the Indian IT operation for a Multinational, SHV Energy India Ltd., the world largest LPG Company. He is associated with Gati Limited in the capacity of Chief Information Officer for the last 14 plus years. During his tenure he has played a major role in transforming the entire IT system of Gati Limited to be at par with best in the industry. He was involved in developing a Software Product called “Gati Enterprise Management System”‘ GEMS a custom developed ERP for the Express Cargo industry and also an unique and innovative mobile based solution.

Whole-Time Director, Gati Kausar
Mr. Manish Agarwal is the Whole-Time Director, Gati Kausar, Gati’s cold chain subsidiary. Mr.Manish Agarwal has been responsible for giving the business direction, creating integrated supply chain capability and enhancing synergy with the rest of Gati’s capabilities and products. He has also been responsible for the strategic partnership with Mandala Capital in October 2014.
Mr. Manish Agarwal holds 2 bachelor degrees in Computer Science and in Economics from the School of Engineering and the Wharton School respectively, at the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated as part of the Jerome Fisher Program in Management in Technology at the University. He has also done a summer program in international relations and public policy at the London School of Economics.
Mr. Manish Agarwal is passionate about the food industry and about creating a sustainable and efficient express network for food and pharmaceuticals in India. He is largely responsible for improving the efficiency of operations. He has a hands on person and works closely with the team at large both at office and outside office. He has developed a special rapport with all customers having visited them regularly. He has knowledge about best practices related to the cold chain business and brings in international experience which is relevant for development of this industry in India.
As part of Gati’s leadership team, he is also involved in other key strategic initiatives of the group, including sales and solution selling.
Chief Strategy Officer
Mr.Dhruv Agarwal is the Chief Strategy Officer, GKEPL. In his role he leads the long term strategy of Gati Group (Gati) which involves corporate capability development, setting up new lines of services and business, to help Gati to set the benchmarks and be the leader in the Indian Logistics landscape.
Since joining Gati in 2012, he has been instrumental in shaping Gati’s future vision and strategy. He led the successful closure of Gati’s Shipping business as part of the group’s strategy to focus on its core – Logistics and Supply Chain Solutions. He championed Gati’s entry into ecommerce logistics, fulfillment centre operations and expanded the end to end supply chain solutions capabilities and industry specific expertise.
Prior to joining Gati, Mr.Dhruv Agarwal was the founder of SunVolt Energy- a Renewable Energy development company. Sunvolt has implemented one of India’s first grid connected MW size solar power plants. He has previously worked as a Project Development Consultant in Capital Fortunes Pvt. Ltd., as a Business Analyst in JP Morgan Chase, USA, as a Summer Consultant in Deloitte Haskins & Sells and as a Project Manager in Illinois Business Consulting USA.
Mr.Dhruv Agarwal holds a Bachelor degree in Liberal Arts & Science in Economics from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, USA. He is currently a CII Telangana State Council Member and leads the Logistics and Industrial Corridor Panel.
